Start today – You need to be a Divemaster or equivalent to join SSI´s 3-Step Instructor Training Approach. The training process starts with joining the Assistant Instructor / Instructor Training Course combination accompanied with Digital Learning. After successful completion of the Instructor Training Course (ITC) you will enroll in an Instructor Evaluation (IE) to qualify as an SSI Open Water Instructor. This 10 day training program entitles you to teach various key SSI programs independently like Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue and Dive Guide. For those who want to take more time to learn and to gain valuable teaching experience between the training programs the 3 parts can also be taken as single steps – Assistant Instructor, Instructor Training Course (ITC) and Instructor Evaluation (IE) one after the other at own pace and with a flexible schedule.

Assistant Instructor only: $1,995
Assistant Instructor / Open Water Instructor combined: $3,095
Open Water Instructor only: $1,495
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years old.
- AI:Have logged at least 60 open water dives totaling 40 hours or more.
- OWI: Have logged at least 75 open water dives totaling 50 hours or more.
- Have the following SSI certifications or equivalent from a recognized training agency: Enriched Air Nitrox 40
- Have the following active status SSI certifications or an equivalent from a recognized training agency: Divemaster
- Own scuba diving equipment of professional quality.
- Have current certification in First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Administration
Schedule: To be arranged with candidate
Includes:
- For AI only or AI/OWI bundle: Digital material for AI and OWI ($700 value)
- Academic and confined water instruction for Assistant Instructor and Instructor levels.
- DAN Professional Insurance while enrolled in class.
- Skills Review Slates: 100 page wetnotes booklet that includes all necessary key points, value statements and objectives for passing your IE.
Does not Include:
- Mandatory SSI Package: $85.
- Pro Registration: $100 as needed. (Only needed once per year while in training.)
- Instructor Evaluation fee – arranged separately
- Equipment other than tanks and weights
- Transportation, lodging, food, entry fees to/from or at various training locations
