Dive with the Sharks and become an SSI Shark Ecology diver
Join us in the SSI Shark Ecology program culminating in an experience of a lifetime: Diving with the Sharks at the Downtown Aquarium! In the class you will learn how to interpret shark behaviors, why they are often misunderstood and how to dive with sharks. This is a perfect course for shark fans and for divers who are nervous about sharks but want to overcome their fear. Upon completion of this program, you will earn your SSI Shark Ecology Specialty certification and no doubt become an avid shark diver. Start today!

Requirements: Open Water Diver Certification
Schedule: Ecology class time will be coordinated amongst the students and instructor. Shark Dives at the Aquarium occur on the set schedule below.

Includes:
- Ecology classroom, digital material, certification.
- 1 Aquarium Admission Entry Pass for student
- Wetsuit sizes: children’s S thru Men’s and Women’s XXL. (XXXL +: If you require a special size wetsuit, we request that you supply your own, please.)
- The use of all needed Scuba Equipment plus gloves, beanie, mask, fins, buoyancy system, air delivery system, tank, booties.
Does not include:
- Transportation / Parking (~$10) / Food
Miscellaneous:
- Limited to 6 per class.
- Classroom portion scheduled amongst students and instructor.
- The whole experience will last until about noon including the backstage tour, briefing, buoyancy check, dive, debrief and clean-up. Once suited up and ready to go, the dive itself is about 45 minutes.
- Water temp is 72 degrees.
- Phone housings and GoPros are okay, but cameras with trays and “arms” are not permitted.
- You may bring your own mask, but that’s the only outside equipment allowed in the aquarium.
